What do you use to lubricate the moving parts on your guitars. I'm sure this is a old topic, but you tell me what you use. |

CRC Ultra-Lite 3-36 ** Dry film lubricant ; Displaces Moisture ; Prevents Corrosion ; Resists oil and dirt buildup ** This is great stuff !! It was reccommended by an auto mechanic (and very good steel guitar mechanic) . I use it on almost everything that needs to be lubed ;garage doors ; door knobs ; casters,etc.,etc.,etc . It lasts a long time and will not cause a buildup . A little goes a long way . You might find it at auto parts stores, farm supply, etc. Or google it and find a place to order it . It's worth every penny . Several other steel pickin' friends of mine have started using it . |

Low technology I guess, but I've had great luck with Hoppe's gun oil. |

Roger, when you see Bill Rudolph at the Waterloo Show, you could get one of his lube bottles (it's filled of coarse). It's what he uses on Willys and with the long "needle nose" you can get into those places that are hard to reach. Good stuff. I'd been using for years horn valve oil because it's so clean, but Bill's stuff is even better.

Another vote for tri-flow. Two years ago when my guitar was new, sewing machine oil worked just fine, but for the last 6 months I have been using the tri-flow. My guitar seems to like it very much. |

I switched from Virgin Olive Oil to Tri-Flow. The taste is not the same but it sure seems to do the trick.

Only TriFlow touches my guitars and other valuable mechanisms.
There may be other versions by other manufacturers, but I'm very happy with TriFlow's results and have never felt the need to change. _________________ Best regards,

Jiffy Lube. I just take it with me when I get the oil changed in my car.
Actually I use the oil that Carter sells. It has a tube that extends out far enough to get down in the guts of the changer. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
