In response to Jim Phelps. I concede Jim's points. I didn't intend to imply that the tape is anything less than excellent. It should be part of anyone's collection of Curly's music. As I mentioned, I heard a version of Curly's, almost solo version of Long Black Limosine, with all its nuances and twists, and I was disappointed when this wasn't the same version on "More Ways to Play," that's all. Sorry if I offended any fan or memory of Curly. His loss was a tragic blow to the steel guitar and music world, and to those of us who were never fortunate enought to meet and hear him perform, it is indeed our loss.

From a 1967 interview I had with Curly:
Regards, Paul
Well, I for one am surely glad Curly changed his mind and if my hunches are still correct. I'd also say that Tom had a lot to do with it. Now this memorable rendition of a world wide favorite song will stand here for all to see and know and appreciate.<SMALL>...He asked if Maurice Anderson used the 6th tuning for Danny Boy and when I replied that he had, Curly said he would not be doing Danny Boy because it had already been done in that setting. I remember someone once asking Jerry Byrd why he had never recorded a certain song. Jerry's reply: "Because everyone else has !"</SMALL>
Regards, Paul
