For only 8 months on the steel, your making very good progress. Keep practicing, and play with the band. You learn as much or more on the band stand than you do at home. Listen to recordings with steel on them that you like, and try to find the licks. If there are any other players in your area, get together with them and see what you can learn from them.

Thanks Larry. I have been playing in bands on guitar for a long time, since I was 12, but decided to give steel a shot only recently. I have realy enjoyed the steel more than I would have thought. No one has tried to unplug my amp yet so I will keep sliding along!
