Wow that does bring back a lot of memories. I went to the convention in '74, '76, '78, and '80, then didn't make it back until '90. Some of these guys I don't remember, somebody tell us who they all are.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

Augustus-Wonderful Classic Photos of so many years ago. As for me being an old Pioneer myself, I can recognize just about every one in the Photos, except one. Later, I will ,if I have the time, compile a list from Pic #1 on and see how close I can get naming all of them.
The picture #1 with little Jimmy Dickens on the left was my specal good friend of many years, Jimmy Yates, a fine steeler playing a Emmons most of his life, with a Midie that he istalled himself,Played Both necks equally well, a great guy, He is gone, from Parkinson's Disease, but I still miss him. His wife Kathy was his musical partner, and very talented gal, and lives in Hendersonville, TN....al.

I think photo #21 is Johnny Cox, and #11 might be a very young Zane King. I think photos #8 and 9 are Paul F.
I want to say the hippy looking fellow is Pat Heller, but it's been a long time since I've run into Pat.
#23 looks like Bob Maickel to me.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

No Tom Bradshaw
Hey Al. Unless I'm peering out from behind something, I don't see myself in any of those pictures. The only guy that looks a bit like I look is the fellow who brought the "World's Smallest Pedal Steel Guitar" to the Convention. Which guy resembles me (remember, I had a very slick pate away back then!). ...Tom

I think #21 is Tommy White and #23 is Smiley, not Tom Bradshaw, I met Tom Bradshaw who should be in the SGHOF for all he has done for steel guitar, in Napa, Calif in 1968. ...great picltures...al.

Al, Tom Bradshaw is in the HOF already, and for those reasons, so rest easy.

Upon reflection, #23 might be Cox, but it might also be Robby Turner. I met him that year, when he was 13 and playing at Bad Bob's in Memphis.
