A New French Forum Is Born!

Post by Frederic Mabrut »

On July 15th, 20 of the most active members of the French Forum had been fired without explanation by its webmaster. A sad event for our community but we, French Steelers, will endure.

The same day in the evening, a new French Forum Was born, this time totally free of pollution by money and personal interest. Everyone is welcome on this forum even without being French speaking.

The adress of this new forum is:

Log-on policy for Alternativ Steel France

Post by Digby Hardy »

Fred

What has happened to ASF? It has now adopted a members only policy. You cannot read anything without first becoming a member and logging on. Do you really expect anyone, except a small band of friends, to join it now?

Steel Guitar France is also now a members only forum and the steel guitar community in France is being deprived of information, resource and contact which is the very purpose of these forums.

I have urged both forums to abandon this damaging policy in the interests of the steel guitar and music we all love and I hope you'll join me.

Ho hum! Should have guessed it's a SNAFU.

Mat, the Administrator, was "learning by doing" and forgot to turn the lights back on. Reminds me of my old software team.

Team: "We've fixed that bug, boy the customer's going to be wooping when he instals this new version!!"

Customer: (hysterical on phone) "What have you done! My God! What have you done!! Nothing works - the whole company's come to a standstill."

Team: (on being informed)" Really! Hmmm. Ah! Yes! That's easy to fix. We had to turn most of the functions off to fix and test the bug." tap, tap, tap, click, click. click, tap, click "That's it. All working. What's he complaining about? No probs."

Yeah - SNAFU.

Do not worry Digby, our new moderator, Matt, is still learning how to handle a forum. He has just forgotten to switch something on before going to bed.
All is okay now...
Cheers

Yes Fred - now I know. Slap my wrist for shooting from the hip.

But I had been in conversation with "you know who" on this very subject and I became diorientated. It happens to the best of people, so why not me?
