OK, so I am not really a kid, but I am new here. I just got my first lap steel after playing guitar for 35 years. I have been playing a square neck reso for about 6 months and my sons surprised me with a Rondo. It came while I was away on business and I broke it out yesterday. I was surprised that the strings lined up over the pickup perfectly and everything else seemed to be in just right. I was a bit leery after reading every post about it. I will probably start with some mods after I figure out what direction I am going in for sound etc. The first thing I did was put new strings on it. (C6)
There is virtually no hum and although it is bright I can roll off the tone to mellow it out. I am playing through a Marshall G50RCD. I need to get a volume pedal still.
My questions for everyone is what is some good instructional material. Where can I find tabs for a C6 six string.
I have been devouring everything on this forun just chomping at the bit to get going.
Cheers,
Kevin |

George Pilburn "Mr GeorgeBoard" has a lot of C6 material for six string. You'll also find some material in the Instruction section here, including some of George's stuff. |

Since there is so much C6 material available, how about working up some E13 (McAuliffe) material? It would be the first... |
