Singing bass player available in DFW

Post by David Kurrasch »

I am posting this for a friend, Shannon Farmer. Here is a short bio that he sent me:

"I am a 35 year old Daddy to the most amazing 2 year old little girl who has not only my heart but my priority. For many years, music held my destiny over anything else......then I realized that I had it backwards and have centered my life with family as my foundation and music my driving force which has made life much more rewarding.

I moved to Nashville in 1995 and spent the next 12 years there. While I was there I toured with Doug Stone (2 years), Neal McCoy (1 year), the country group Ricochet (6 years), and several "one hit" artists. I met my wife in Vegas while she was there playing fiddle for Johnny Lee (I, with Ricochet) and soon moved to Northeastern Oklahoma to be with her and later marry. We (my wife and I) started a regional band called "Deuce Eleven" and spent 2 years building one of the top money bands in Oklahoma. Then Brynn (our daughter) was born and it became clear that having a newborn baby with Mommy AND Daddy traveling every weekend had to cease. So we finished out our bookings and decided to dissolve the band.

FAST FORWARD TO NOW! I have just relocated to the DFW area for a job. I am staying with family in Garland right now but we plan to buy in McKinney in the coming months. I take music serious and hope to find a band that does the same. With that said, I work hard on the front end to have fun and play hard on the back end. I don't have an ego because I have played with MANY and refuse to be THAT GUY. I don't have any issues or substance problems....but I do enjoy a cold beer from time to time. My musical tastes/influences vary immensely! I enjoy and appreciate the traditional side of country music more than anything. However, I have been a part of some amazing projects that were R&B/Funk,Classic Rock, Texas Country, and I even have the bass credits on a cd for a Broadway singer. So I'm not opposed to much as long as it's done right.

Anyway, that's me! I'm open to audition anytime. You can see and hear some of my bass playing at www.deuceeleven.com"

I've worked a number of times with Shannon. I also saw him when he was with Ricochet. Great singer, bass player and, ummm, he also plays steel. I recommend him highly. Someone in DFW will grab him quickly.
