Hi all, I just thought that I would let you know that we had a new addition to our family on the 8th June 09 weighing in at 8lbs 9 3/4oz is our Daniel, so I sent my son a track of me playing, you've guessed it, Danny Boy. So our son has gone and put it on you tube with a photo or two, I'm playing my Sheffield D10 through a Peavey Session 500. If this works you can either click on the link or copy and paste it. Kind regards, Grandad Dave (UK). Very Happy

Hi there Bent, Thank you for your very kind words and yes he is lovely (I wonder if he will play a PSG?).
My set up is: a D10, 9 pedals & 8 Knee levers (4+5 E9th & 6+5 C6th) 4th pedal works on E9th as well on C6th plus 3 of the knee levers work on both knecks. I have George L TW (Tommy white E9th) & PF (Paul Franklin C6th) I use either George L or Jag Wire stainless steel strings (tension balanced E9th & standard Nashville C6th) my amp is a Peavey Session 500 mk iv. Here is a photo of my SHEFFIELD steel which I also designed and Hand built, it has sealed st/st bearings on all cross shafts, roller nut & changer mechanism, I get at max only 1 - 2 cents of cabinet drop on strings 5 & 6.
Kind regards,
Dave. Very Happy

Thanks again, Dave, for a beautiful rendition of this timeless melody from the British Isles. Can't help but think of the lyrics penned by Dottie Rambo which say, in part, "He (Jesus Christ) looked beyond my faults and saw my need." This truth added to your excellent playing make this tune special indeed!

Hi Guys, my heart is indeed touched by your very kind words, what can I say, but a great big thank you. It was indeed a great honour to be able to play this tune for our Daniel and that the great Mr Buddy Emmons made so famous on the pedal steel guitar way back in '68' on the Black album? I think that all the steel players that ever played this wonderfull instrument all over the world have strived to play this tune like the Big 'E'. Once again many thanks to all replies. Dave. Very Happy
