AR: Hot Springs Show-October 23rd & 24th

Post by Herby Wallace »

My friend Ronnie Neighbors is having his 30th steel guitar show in Hot Springs, AR on October 23rd and 24th. Ronnie did not have a show last year because of some health problems, but he has decided to have the show this year and he says this will be his last show, so be sure to make this one if at all possible. I have been playing Ronnie's shows since 1984 and are some of my favorite shows. We will be adding more info and the lineup of players as soon as all the players are confirmed. The show is held at Ronnie's music store which is worth seeing if you haven't been there as he has a very large store with a great selection of instruments. The show is held in Ronnie's theatre which adjoins his store.
The address and phone are: Ronnie's Guitar Shop, 625 Albert Pike, Hot Springs, AR 71913, phone 501/623-4603.

I hope to see many of you there.

This show has been great for many years and we too hate to see it go. We're looking forward to going to Hot Springs in October as we have for many, many years. We hope to see all of our friends and maybe make some new ones as we help Ronnie and Faye Neighbors close what has been a phenominal 30 year run with this final show.
Let's get the word out and pack the theater to show Ronnie and Faye how much we have appreciated their efforts and hard work over the past 30 years.
We're looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Mr Rudy,
Should be a great show with you, Mr Roy and the stage band,Mr Buck,Mr Herby, and "Mr X".
I hope we fill the theater with a record crowd.Ronnie and Faye have given so much time ,effort, hard work, and "$$$$$", to bring to the fans great shows.
I hate to see the show discontinued, but Ronnie's health is much more important. He has stuck with it thru many hardships and health issues, to bring to the fans a premium show.
I'm looking forward to the show...
See you all down the road...

Herby, I wish I could come see you, Rob and the guys, particularly since this is the last chance to catch one of Ronnie's shows. Ronnie is such a great fellow and has contributed so much to the steel guitar community. I know he's gone through a rough patch recently with losing his Pop a few years back and his own health.
Ronnie, I hope you're doing much better lately.

Probably won't make it, but hope you guys have an absolute ball. Enjoy.

I just spoke with Ronnie Neighbors today and he said things are starting to come together for the show. He told me that Mike Jones has been added to the list of players. I did a show in Washington, PA back in April and heard Mike play again and believe me, he played great. One of the best tones I have heard in a long time and very tasteful with a lot of soul.
I will list the full lineup when Ronnie gets it to me, but this is going to be a great show, so be sure and make it if at all possible. Also, I must mention that my favorite bar-b-que restaurant,McClards, is located within walking distance from the show, so that is worth the trip in addition to the steel guitar playing.

We're looking forward to being with Ronnie and Faye for this, his last show. Look's like Ronnie is bringing together a fine show with some great players. We hope to see many of our friends from over the years there to support Ronnie.

P.S. Herby, we'll see you at McClard's.

Like Herby Wallace, I played on the first show in Hot Springs and have missed a few but not intentially. As I played on the first show, I was there with Zane Beck, and I hope that Ronnie will invite me to play on his last show. Scotty

Rats! Scrap that email I just posted! I'm booked in Waterloo, IA on the same date! Sorry Ronnie but I will not be able to be at your last show. I really wanted to be there but just forgot that I had already booked the show in Waterloo. I wish you good luck with it and also I hope your health improves. Scotty

McClard's by itself, would be reason enough to fly down to Arkansas from Oregon. A steel show, on top of that, would just be icing on the cake.

I haven't been there for 15 years and I can still remember the taste of that BBQ. :!:

Jerry and Austin are looking forward to this show also. Austin has a show somewhere else that night, but he says he is going to Ronnie's for sure, since this is his last. Austin has been playing them since he was probably about 8 or 9. I may have to go to Kansas to get him, but he wants to be there. See everyone soon.
