Built in Modesto California by Barry Thomas (no longer in production, but rumors are flying about him building again). They are very good guitars. He is in Oklahoma now, I believe.

the thomas guitars are really sturdy, easy to play, built really well and sound great. I used to own one of his generationn ll d-10 which is the last model he was making.(should have kept it) I did have a chance to talk with him and he is a wonderfull person to talk with and he did tell me that he was going to start making them again. there is a few people on the forum still have some of them. maybe they will chime in on this. If you get a chance to buy one mny friend don't hesitate they are exceptionally made instrument.

I have a Thomas U-12, it has very easy action and super easy to work on.. I like it, but it's on the heavy side.
67 lbs in the case, It is my home practice set-up.
I like it a lot.. It now has a tone aligner PU in it that sounds real good.

I believe he is in Chichasha, Okla. About 90 miles straight south of here on 81 Hi-way. Jeff Newman used to have them and said they were excellent steels.
He use to to give one away at his spring jams once in a while and I still have a Steel News he sent out relating to this, I think.----Jack

looking guitars " i have never had the
chance to play one though ! but they do
look great " I know that Matt Keon has
one on the forum a D10 5 knees 8 floors
and it is gray mica and it looks very
nice" in fact it looks as good as new'
if I had the extra cash I would buy it !
I talked to him and he is a very nice
fellow' he says he's not had it long
and he is just wanting a SD10 to trade
for because he doesn't play c6 much !
so if anyone is interested in a Thomas
pedal steel D10 that is as good as new
look him up on the forum in Instruments

David, I was at Billy Cooper's shop on Thursday of this week and he had a blond Thomas on the floor. As I recall it was a D10. But I can't remember much else about it. Billy's number is 540/854-5940.

Hi David. I have been playing a Thomas D10 Generation II, now for some time. I absolutely love it. I'm new to steel (been at it about 3 years), but I have owned a few steels so far. I traded my SD10 Derby for this Thomas, and couldn't be happier. They are a great value and a very well-built steel. Mine has very good sustain and even tone across the board. If I were a better player, I'm sure I'd appreciate this even more. They are heavy, but I can live with that. I gig a fair amoount with it, and it's never broken a string while performing. If I had the spare cash, I'd already have had a backup.
