jamming on my Maverick

Post by Jan Oelbrandt »

Hi.
Finally got to post some vids on YT, jamming away on my Sho Bud Maverick. I've been playing a couple of years now, and would appreciate forum member's comments, just to get some feedback on my playing. (on this forum if technical, general comments on the YT channel please)

i think he means, you would be even more prolific w: that lever Jan
it gives an 3 rd degree inversion
(3 frets above the root postion or 0 position)
string 4 & 8 raise a half step w: that lever
add pedal A & you go from a dom7 to the root tone

My favorite was the second one. Thats a pretty bluesy groove you've gat going on. What is the flat top? Is it something like a Regal or a May-Bell? It looks and sounds pretty cool.

Jan, what I meant was when you use your peddles you move your left leg way left, if you had a knee lever left to left you would be engaging it. You play good, I did not mean any disrespect. Keep it up. :)

Yeah Bobby, the flattop is indeed a May Bell. Should be from around 1940, but I'm not sure. The top is far from flat (due to string tension and maybe some past abuse) it has a big kinda bubble right next to the soundhole. But It still rocks... those old acoustics have something special about them.
