My new song "Isolation Song", recorded in Stockholm, Sweden in an all-analogue studio with French artist Marjolaine on accordion and backing vocals (and my brother Valter on percussion and Sebastian Berghult on double bass).

The video was filmed on a frozen lake outside Stockholm (where I used to spend the summers as a child). We found some old "sparkstöttingar" (Swedish winter vehicles from a bygone era) in a barn, and shot a video (no script or plan Smile). My sister Anna shot and edited the video.

(Click on the "HD" or "HQ" youtube option for better sound and image quality).

I hope you will enjoy it!

Fred

Wow, Fred! This is a beautiful song & the video is spot-on!

The "close" delay on the vocal adds a real quality to this, & overall the effect along with your brother's percussion is quite awesome... you should be proud of this!

Cool

I would say it's "cool", but that would be a serious understatement... it looks absolutely bloody freezing, for God's sake put some gloves on! Laughing

But I guess to your Scandinavian blood this was a lovely warm day! Winking

In my mind, I associate the sounds of the steel guitar with languid tropical climes. This shows another side, to be sure. Nice job, Fred (and friends)!

Wow, really beautiful. I really like that combination of Weissenborn and upright bass. They have a warm and slippery quality. Nice water percussion too!

That was beautiful, Fred--congrats to all involved. You have been a consistent, unique voice on the Weissenborn-style acoustic steel for some time now. It's great! (Your sister also did a really nice job on the video.)

Wow, the lakes are frozen in Sweden even in the summer?

Really great Fred. Nice idea, performance, production, and collaboration.

Thanks a lot guys - I am happy you enjoy the song and video! Smile

I am happy with the recordings we made in Stockholm - two of these will be on my CD. Analogue equipment is great - the sound has a warmth that is unbeatable.
