Kitty Wells with my great uncle.

Thought this was great, figured i would share it with you guys. That's my uncle Ray singing with Kitty. He was her fiddle player for a while. Ray told me that Shot Jackson played steel on this.

I've watched many of these GREAT videos over the past few years, and recognized your Uncle in many of them as a back up singer and fiddle player for a great many singers and artists as well as the great Kitty Wells. Is he still performing? These were all in my hey day. I always wished I could have just a bit of the talent that these folks have. Thanks to all the folks whom have taken the time to have saved all this great stuff that will live forever. Jay Y.

Jay, Uncle Ray has been retired from music for a while now. He is not in the best of health anymore. I got to play with him several times and let me tell you, i would quit playing just to watch him play the fiddle. He was great, and still is when he picks it up. If you know of anymore, please post a link or you can email them to me. Thanks Jay!

Hey Brett.
Did you get Johnnie & Jack With Uncle Ray video doing "I Get So Lonely". I guess I have to stay off this stupid computer and just play.

Brett,
Thanks for posting that clip. I got to know Ray quite well when he was in Augusta Ga area, in the late 50s/early 60s, if memory serves me correctly. He was a "DJ" at WGUS radio, and played fiddle for John Bennifield, along with "Smilin Billy Bowman" on steel. Thanks for that memory..Bill

This may be Ray in this vid..
