You are right, Bent. Jimmy Day on steel, Leo Jackson on guitar, maybe Jim Kirkland on bass. Not real sure of the other guys. Jody.

Hi Jody,
How could I forget Leo? Of course that was him. I feel privileged to be able to say that I had one email from Leo before he passed away.It means a lot to a devoted Jim Reeves fan.

About the bass player...When did Henry come in to the picture?(don't remember his last name) He was with Jim for sure in '64, in Norway.

How many pedals did he have on that guitar? Maybe two? Jay Y.

In another video with the same gal, Buddy Emmons appears to be sitting at the same guitar With two pedals. Must be at a later date because of color. Jay Y.

Looking deeper into the videos, another show has Jimmy Day take a break with this gal, no question about it, before the split. I truly enjoy this early style, takes me back to my youth. Jay Y.

This clip comes from the Bear Family 4 DVD series "Country Style USA" - an absolute must if you love those old shows from days gone by. A total of 52 shows, each one has a featured artist plus some guests, filmed with lots of shots on the musicians. DVD is a little different, all the shows on this DVD are hosted by Faron Young, no musicians visible.

Featured artists include Jim Reeves, Little Jimmy Dickens, Ray Price, Faron Young, Carl Smith, George Morgan, Roy Acuff, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Pee Wee King, Hank Snow, Goldie Hill, Ernest Tubb, Jean Shepard, Webb Pierce and many more.

Kind Regards, Walter

I love that old stuff. OK I liked it when it was new too. I really enjoy early pedal steel.
