If you want to hear great country albums with lots of steel and dobro these days, you really do have to look to small indie labels. (Dave Peterson's brilliant new album "Coming On Strong" comes to mind) I had heard about a new album called "Mission Door" by Peter Cooper (who happens to write for the Tennessean), and had heard that Lloyd plays on it and co-produced it with Peter. Had to hear it of course. My copy came today, and what I'd heard is true, it's one great song after another chock full of Lloyd doing his thing.
Recorded to tape and beautiful sounding, I really recommend it to any alt-country fans out there (and straight up country fans too). You can order online with PayPal or a credit card from Red Beet Records.

I've been telling people about this album for a while; I bought it because Lloyd is on it and ended up being blown away by the whole thing. I recommend buying it immediately. |

Pete you're right, I ordered that one too, listening to it now, Lloyd just shines on it, what can you say? Richard Bennett and Kenny Vaughn are also on that album, can't go wrong with them. Lovely production and top-notch soulful playing from everybody. And strong material, let's not forget that.
I also wanted to tell you your playing in those Dave Peterson videos from his release show absolutely knocked me out. I am friends with Bob Hoffnar and he's always spoken very highly of you and your playing, now I know why.
