Steel Guitar on the Radio Weekly

Post by seldomfed »

Dear all,
KRFC's 'Steel Guitar Jam' has been on the radio since August 2004. This show is dedicated to the steel guitar in all it's forms, Pedal Steel, Lap Steel, Resonator - and many genres from Country to Hawaiian - Jazz to Bluegrass.

Please support public radio, and the steel guitar, with a donation to KRFC during the spring fund drive April 24 thru May 2. Anything is appreciated - you can donate online.

Internet radio is gaining in popularity weekly, iPods are in the ears of every person under 25, but radio is hanging on! And, how else will steel players from another planet hear your music if you don't broadcast it over the air! :)

www.myspace.com/steelguitarjam - broadcast (and streamed) every Thurs. morning 6am to 7:30am Mountain time on http://krfcfm.org/

Playlists at: http://www.spinitron.com/public/index.p ... w=schedule

Thanks!
Chris

Hi all - Tomorrow - THURS 4-30 is the day our show for steel is on the air. 6am Mountain at
www.krfcfm.org ( a non-profit public radio station )

We'd love your support! Why?

Why give money to a radio station you can't hear, except on the web?
- We stream on the internet, so steel guitar goes around the world. We need funding to stay on the air.
- Since this show has been on the air I've gotten a number of local young people interested in steel that had never heard it.
- I play music than many of you have recorded if you have CD's publically available.
- Live humans play the music and talk about it, we're not an automated station.
- I'll donate $100 of my own money to the 'Steel Guitar Forum' if anybody calls or does a web pledge and says they are a 'forumite'!
- AND it would be so cool to get pledges from people that support steel guitar, from far away places, especially if you have listened before.

Thanks all!,
chris
