wtb: Acoustic guitar/archtop

Post by Frode Bjoernstad »

I am looking for a Gibson or Epiphone acoustic archtop guitar. Preferably from the 40’s or 50’s. I’m a player and not collector, so playability is more important than original condition/parts etc.

Project-condition archtops and small Flat tops from same era can also be interesting.

These doesn’t come by too often here in Norway, and I rather check here before I do the more risky Ebay thing.

Don’t worry about shipping.I have only had good experiences with overseas shipping.

I have a 1930's Regal arch top with round hole. The neck has been reset by professional luthier Mike Hauver. There are two carbon fiber rods for stiffness and a new ebony finger board and new reproduction bridge. 14 fret to the neck all mahogany back and sides with spruce top. Original tuners work fine and the pick guard is ebony. No label. I took this guitar to the Martin factory in Nazerath, PA and thier techs were impressed with the set up. It is a bright sounding guitar, medium volume. There is one repair to the back and the original finish is still intact and shiny. New TKL hard shell case included. $450 plus shipping.
