THANKS DAVE,

I really love this "Swingy" tune.
Seems to be a rare video.

Is BUDDY EMMONS the only pro steel player to have played a keyless PSG?

I think it was made for British TV - I have a copy somewhere.

Off the top of my head, Joe Wright comes to mind. I'm sure there are others too.

Just dawned on me... that video is the group "Strength In Numbers" with steel guitar instead of banjo! :)

For those who don't remember the group Strenth In Numbers... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dj8lVaqQFE

Although he did not play a keyless at TSGA, Mike Sigler certainly has played a keyless GFI.

"Hey, he even made it look good. "

I wouldn't go that far!!!! :whoa:

Doesn't he have the greatest sense of 'time', though? As soon as I heard that clip, I thought - 'I can do that - wait a minute....'

I didn't even get close, but he always has that effect on me. Still the best-ever!!!

What can you say? It's Buddy Emmons. The King of Cool Steel.

Buddy looks like it's just another day at the office... It's always so great to watch him play.

I had to laugh when the bass player dropped his bow on the floor and it smacked like a principal getting ready to whack the bad kid.... (back in the old days of course!)

Good Stuff! I posted the clip this morning under "Steel Players", didn't know it was over here.
You're right Dave that is Strength In Numbers, without Bela. That's what got my attention when I ran across the clip. Cool to see Buddy playing with those guys and playing a guitar that's not an Emmons.
Any of you guys that like acoustic music and haven't done so already, check out Strength In Numbers "The Telluride Sessions". Incredible playing by this same group of players (without Buddy) and Bela Fleck on banjo. Many different styles of music on one record by some of the best acoustical players around.
