Little Bit of David Lindley

Post by Steve Branscom »

I found this youtube video of a '77 Jackson Browne concert featuring David Lindley on lap steel. He even has a great falsetto voice part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTJ9g1pI ... L&index=22

"Maryland 77"-- had to be the now defunct Capital Centre in Largo. I remember that show (kinda)...Randy Newman opened, solo...his set and Lindley's steel playing are what stood out for me. The falsetto bit is still pretty funny, and dead-on.
:D nice find!

Nice find, Steve. Also, do a YouTube search for "Jackson Browne Running on Empty" -- there are several with Lindley taking the steel break. I haven't found THE solo yet, but there's some other really good ones out there.

And here is a concert recording from a radio show - some great Weissenborn tunes!

thanks for the Lindley tips. I have been listening to his playing since the early 70's... what a guy!
