Buddy's passing is in deed a sad day. I simply love the man.
We had a great time down at the Steel Mill last month, and my friend will not be forgotten.
Go rest now my brother in Gods arms.

He was my friend. I'm so happy to have been able to see him at his jam- he was "my favorite steel guitar player".

This is a sad day for all of us who knew and loved Bud. I take comfort in knowing of his beliefs, and I know he is in a better place. He truly made a difference in the lives of many. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

A very sad day today for me as well. I only knew Buddy for a few short years and from a long distance.

Through Charles Tilley, I met Buddy at my first trip to the TSGA show. Buddy invited me to play at his Thursday night event, which I had the pleasure of doing two years in a row. I'll never forget how nervous I was my first time up on the TSGA stage, and how seeing Buddy's smiling face made me feel at ease.

Annie and I will miss Buddy very much. He was a true friend.

As was said before, this is a very sad day for me and Barbara. Buddy was one of our dearest friends. We had such a great time visiting in Dallas last month. Buddy our friend, you are now in the house of The Lord. We will miss you and we love you.
...Roy and Barbara

P.S. to Carrie: You were his "rock", we love you for all the wonderful things and joy you brought to Buddy.
Music is a "gift" with many wrappings....

Carrie, a special thanks to you for hanging in with Grandpa Buddy all these years. You were his ROCK and I know he loved you as much as you loved him. None of us will ever forget your Grandpa Buddy. Love you, Jody.

So sorry to hear this. Although he IS in a better place, I'm sure it is still tough on the family. He was a great guy, with a great sense of humor, AND, every steel player was "My Favorite Steel Guitar Player".

My condolences to the family.

I hurt. I simply loved the man. He was my Brother, fraternally and spiritually. My heart is heavy.

I've lost so many dear friends in the last three months... Ben Brogdon, Paul Skelton, Tom Brumley, now Buddy Bryant.

We will all see each other again one day. So mote it be.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

I am just devastated

Post by Charles Tilley »

This has been one of the hardest days in my life. Since early this morning when Carrie called me and told me about Bud, I have called and talked to so many of his and my friends. My heart is so heavy now,I just want to start this day all over and let this not happen. Buddy was one of my VERY BEST friends and I loved him as much as the rest of you. Part of me died today also.

I pray that my Lord and Savior JESUS has him in his arms and that he has that "Buddy Bryant" smile he always had. Rest well my friend until I get there. One of your favorite steel guitar players will miss you the rest of his life.

No one can replace Buddy Bryant. He was always a joy to be around. I was never able to go the after Dallas party but I wanted to. Seems like I used to hear his name as a lad growing up in Temple Texas. Everyone loved Buddy Bryant. May he rest in peace.

Response from Carrie Horn

Post by Charles Tilley »

Most all of you know Carrie Horn, Buddy's grand-daughter who was by his side almost every time you saw Buddy. A big part of her world has now disappeared and I know her heart is broken like the rest of us.

She has done what she thinks is required to join the forum so that she can respond to all the post about Buddy but doesn't seem to be successful.

Please allow me to express her thanks and gratitude for the love shown to her Grand-pa. She would say it differently if she could but please know that she thanks everyone of you.
