JH with Conway
What blows me away about this video, is that John is doing all these UNBELIEVABLE licks behind Conway and all the while is sitting back there and chewing gum! No effort at all on John's part! It's easy to see from this video why we all sorta "worshipped" the guy. There'll never be another John Hughey! May God Bless you John! Roger Dillingham

Fantastic Steel Playing by John Hughey. The tone is superb.I noticed how slow he moved his bar when he was sliding. I was so blessed to see John several times at Steel Shows. He left us wanting more. He certainly is missed.

I learned that break last night. I think it's cool how they part as the break comes and the light goes on him.

gum
Good stuff. It doesn't get any better. I gota get some of that gum.And that guitar is pretty cool. I remember Joe Minor had a blue push pull with wood necks for sale a while back. I should have bought it then.

PaPa John , May He Rest In Peace

Bill : Thanks for posting this video with Conway and PaPa John.. He , too , is my all time great steel player. They don't come any better, in my book.. Went to a county fair back a few years to see the Conway Twitty Show, but to hear John play; I couldn't find a decent seat on the grand-stand; so I found a spot along a fence. right in front of the stage and stood there the entire show; so I could watch every move PaPa john was doing on the steel. And I admired Conway, as he did very little talking between songs; right to one after the other; And lots of steel sounds to fill the air.. Fabulous..Bernie
