| Can someone give me some help tabbing out the scale intro on "my first night without you" by Red Steagall.I'm sure this must be Sonny Garrish.Great stuff.Starts right into the v chord ending back into 1 . Thanks George |

Hi George,
Yessiree, that's Sonny alright.
Over the years I've scraped, and clawed out nearly every lick (and twin part) on that particular Red Steagall album. (Truck drivin' man)
After I began playing again in the spring of 07', I dug back into alot of the stuff that I always wanted to figure out, or "freshen up" on, and that album once again found itself at the top of the heap.
I haven't tabbed anything out for a very long time, but this is just the type of challenge I could use right now, and I'd be glad to help out.
I'll get on it tonight, and post back here asap.
I can Email it directly to you, or if somebody else is interested in it also, I'll just post it up in here.
I've been an avid student of Sonny since the early 80's, and kinda developed a knack for his senses, and approach to playing.
I've got a (shortened) clip of the song "City of New Orleans" over on Charles Tilley's ETSGA site.
It's a little bit on the busy side, since we just used a "finished" Cracker Barrel bluegrass CD for a track while we were messing around in the studio one day. We intend to purge out that CD, and replace it with individual instrument tracks.
Mike Douchette did come over one day and laid down some great harmonica parts for us.
I mention the clip, because I think Sonny's influence on me is fairly apparent, and especially so on the twinned sections.
I'll drop in again soon with the tab.

George,
Here ya go. I got to it a little quicker than I thought I would.
I was mistaken on the album name. It's from "Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills Music"
The top two notes (3&4) are picked together, while the 5th is thumbed. Think triplets.
The "F" lever raises the 4th string - 1/2 tone.
At the 17th fret you will begin your descent in single notes. You'll see the scale pattern emerge.
I also included the lead in line that happens a couple of times to bring in the chorus.
