I like that. Not to take anything away from John, but it's nice to hear that played different, rather than everyone copying John's licks. Joe is a great player.

Kenny,I haven't run into Joe in years...the last I heard of him,I think he was playing with the Judds...early on,before Charlie Whitten started working with them...I used to enjoy hanging with him at the Opry...he is a good'un.

I agree with ya Steve! You know back in the 80's and i can't remember the exact date, i was invited to a very small club in Columbia by Johnny Watson which ran sound for Hank Jr and Pink Floydd to see Vince play! Johnny and i have known each other a long time and awesome sound man!

I almost didn't go because i knew of Vince from Pure Praire League and didn't want to hear a rock show!
I get tehre and Bruce Bouton is playin steel! That was pretty cool! Bruce was still with Skaggs at the time!
Vince and i was drinking a Corona and talking about steel. He ask me to play but Bruce had a different set up. He told me to go home and get my steel and jam with them that he was goona need a steel player. I ordered another beer and said nah, i'll just sit here and listen!
I'm still sitting here listening ya know!

I saw him again and i think Joe McGuffie was with him and i said well, he made the right choice!

I hope he is still picken because you're right, he's a player!!
