Thanks, Kenny,
Like you said, the fingers have been programmed to do these licks at a certain tempo, and only after doing them over a period of time, do you realize it's not that easy to play them at such a reduced pace!
The first section of you second (This) lick is the one Jeff Newman showed us (1980), but I like the way you resolved it. Nice work.....Keep it up!

Thanks Nic!
Yep, its hard to slow it down.
I think the first part of the lick i learned many years ago and somebody told me it was originally a Buddy Charlton lick! Not sure but Bruce Bouton should it to me at a Skaggs show back in the 80's!
Anyways, i have a modified version that breaks it up with a double stop in the middle so i'll stick it out there!
Thanks again!

Hi Joe,
I feel with you! The only bit of advice I can offer is to not spend too much time trying to play the lick slow. As soon as you have a good idea of where the notes are, start playing it fast..... Yeah, in the beginning your fingers will be tripping over themselves, but things will soon fall into place.
Happy hunting!

Hey Nic & Joe!
Crown Royal works better than JD!!!
Yea, some of those runs have been played since the 80's by me. Nic is absolutly rioght about playing them fast as soon as you can.
It has always worked for me!! I play everything fast though!
It only takes me 30 minutes to watch 60 minutes!
If i can help holler at me man!

Hey Kenny, thanks for reminding me I used to play that lick! I guess it got buried somewhere at some point. I just want to tell ya I like your style, and if you want to keep putting these out there, I, for one, will appreciate it a lot
Have a good one!

Yea, like i said before, i think alot of what i play is some pro's licks i learned. Just don't remember who and when i learned them.
I spend 4 nights a week playing and working on what pops in the old brain.
I'm working on another clip of a lead i play on Hwy 40 blues. I know Bruces stuff and trust me, i'm not or could never improve on what he did!
Thanks again!
