Tennessee Waltz - Greg Cutshaw
My last song with the Steel King Amp using the Peavey Black Widow 1501-4 speaker. I'm putting the stock Fender speaker back in tomorrow!

Danny,
The BW speaker has too much mid range dip for my tastes. Although the BW speaker did calm the ear splitting highs of the stock speaker, it also killed the sparkle in the sound and required me to boost the mid range greatly to get some of my original tone back. With the BW speaker in the amp, it was like having a Nashville 400 or Session 400 amp so the sound was great and would be something a lot of people would like. But it just killed the mid range and highs that give the Steel King it's trademark sound. So it's a matter of personal preference. It only took 15 minutes to swap it back. Now I have a BW 1501-4 to sell and someone else can give it a try in their Steel King!
