I love the part at 1:50

Sound quality is very good. It sounds like "Summertime" is one of the old songs you mix in there.

Thanks for posting!
We live to play another day.

Love the video. It has a really cool vibe. The tunes I recognized were 10= 22... America The Beautiful 1:29... the sound track of a chase scene in "2001 A Space Odysee" and 4:10.."Shenadoah" Don D.

Enthralling adventure into melody and timbre. A nice way to start my listening day.
And I agree with Don about the vibe of the video-- something in the-- low light?-- resolution of the image very much pulled me in.

Thank you Brian, Todd, and Kevin,

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. As for the songs . . . Don, you are correct on "America the Beautiful" -- I played the first three or four notes, but it wasn't intentional. I had no idea that I had played that until I saw the video.

As for the "intentional" songs, here's a clue -- one is a civil rights-era gospel tune that has been recorded by Nina Simone and Roberta Flack. The other two were songs by a female singer/musician/song composer who was popular in the late sixties and early seventies who died in 1997.

OK y'all, give up? I give up. I think that some of the melodies I play are not as recognizable as they could be. With time I tend to sort of change them to my own tastes and then forget that they've changed.

Here's what's on the short video:

-- a couple excerpts of free improvisation,

excerpts from:

-- my piece "And I Await the Resurrection of the Pedal Steel Guitar"

-- the spiritual "I Told Jesus" (which was recorded by Nina Simone and Roberta Flack)

-- "He's a Runner", written by Laura Nyro

and

-- "Save the Country", also written by Laura Nyro.

Have a good day,
Susan

Though not intended, thaks for including "America The Beautiful". The subconcious is a wonderful thing. Don D.
