new guy needs help with simple songs

Looking for tabs for simple songs without pedals or knee levers. Something for a beginner. Need to play something for the girlfriend. Maybe an A pedal would be OK. thanks

Irv- that is funny because that is the furthest thing from my mind. I am a rank beginner trying to learn this darn instrument and in the meantime would like a couple of real easy, simple songs I can play .

I would recommend you get yourself some good training material (Jeff Newman, Winnie Winston); these courses take you through the basics, and do work up to some easy tunes to play using the material covered during the learning process.
There is just no shortcut! $:\$

hum a song in your head try to find it on your guitar a old saying goes if you cant hum it you cant play it lol. no really try on single strings then add your second string youre better off to work it that way then try to remember a tab.

Doug Beaumier has a great book - 60 Popular Melodies for E9 Pedal Steel Guitar. Some of the songs a pretty simple, some a little more complex, but all are really nice arrangements that will help you find your way around. You can find Doug at www.playsteelguitar.com

Sent Don Sulesky $25 it is bar none the best money you will ever spend. I bought his E9th course and had songs down in a couple of days. Its a great start and when you get the idea you can move on to some of the more advanced lessons. Thanks again Don

I agree with Craig. Don's stuff is great for beginners as

most of it

is two pedals and two knees. Shortens the learning curve up quite a bit.

Sho-Bud back in 1969 had album with a book titled The Nashville Set-Up, And the first song,I learned how to play off of it was Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain using A and B pedals.Very,very,simple to learn and to play. It helped me, when I was not able to hook up with my mentor.
