I classify myself as a pedal steel guitar owner and would love to make it some time but Tue nights are tough to get there and get back. I will try to work it out some time soon.

Still pickin' in Tombstone

Post by Rick Jolley »

We just finished our 11th week at the Four Deuces. Always at least 12 players or more! Very competent, very smooth -- observing all the right "breaks", holding the volume down, playing mostly "Americana" -- Country, country, country-- with a little classic rock & pop thrown in.

Whitey Hammett is a fairly new Dobro player, and he has been gradually adding an amp, and a pedal, and learning more licks (sits next to me... steels my licks <grin> ) but he is leaving next Monday to spend "two or three months" at Lake Havasu City.

So, we will be without a slider for a while, hope one of you Desert Rats will drop in.

It's a good jam and a great, enthusiastic crowd of listeners who join in singing on many of the tunes. Paddy (from Paddy's Pub, 1000 Islands, Ontario ) is planning to move to Tombstone so he can play with us!! Just got a call from Casa Grande and they've got five players that want to come down. (I don't know where we'll put 'em, but maybe we can move outside -- it was 90 degrees yesterday.)

Weather's great, beer's cold, come on down here and play with us.
