Sho-Bud LDG for sale

Post by Steve Widman »

Since my last post in March of 2000 I have only managed to play this about 10 times and am giving up. That, along with things being bad in here in Michigan it's time for it to go to a new home. Don't know how old it is exactly, but the serial number is 16840 and also has 1-A-3 stamped on it. I also don't know the slang names that describe the components, but the close-up pictures may tell those who are knowledgeable of such things. It is in absolutely perfect mechanical condition. Cosmetically I believe it is quite good, perhaps excellent for it's age. To detail all imperfections: There are 4 locations on the wood surface - 3 small bar dings and an extremely small white spot the size of a pinhead. The wood surface is otherwise perfect. The aluminum components have a total of 3 tiny pockmarks that look like factory. Extremely close inspection (way less than a foot) reveals a few spots of minor pitting on the aluminum sides of the instrument. The lower crossbar has a few imperfections like little dings and such. If you look very close, the chrome plating on the legs is thin enough to see some minor pitting below. I am being really picky with all of this.

Comes with a Bar, tuner and factory case which is in almost perfect condition - there is some typical looking light surface rust on the latch faces.

I am in Michigan near Ann-Arbor and welcome anyone who would like to come see it. I'll also send more photos upon request, along with my Ebay ID if you wish to check feedback. Best to sell here before Ebay for sure. $1600.00 If there are no pictures I’ll keep trying.

Cheers, Steve

I forgot to ask....

Post by Jim Hollingsworth »

The thing I forgot to ask is if she has any checking on the finish. I've seen many of the old lacquer guitars that have a great deal of checking. Or is it checquing? Anyway I was curious about that one.
Thanks!

Looks like it's gone

Geesh, 'I take it's' came from everywhere. Email/Pm's/Forum etc. Had to check the clock to see who got it. I'm assuming the deal is done and have emailed the party who offered first. I have a ton of pro-rack gear for sale too and I'll post some of that soon.

That's what I get for napping. This is a lot like fishing Steve, sellers provide the bait and we are all the fish. Time to go back to the school.

My first pedal steel was just like this one. It was a great steel and Lloyd Green was and still is one of my super heroes of the steel.

Whomever gets it will be very happy!

GOD bless!

what joker keeps pushing this to the top, if the guitar is sold as it is stated so in the previous post by the owner, then let's drop it and quit wasting peoples time, the FOR SALE section is not some joke section for your entertainment... be serious about it or keep off the Forum... I personally have tried to contact the owner a few times to see if the guitar is still for sale.. ,it fell on deaf ears , so I assume it is sold..It was a great deal but it's over, DROP IT!!! Bob
