Hey Duane I still have that Nashville ProSteel amp I got from you in '79'or 79' when I lived in Indy. Is the guarantee still good? Seriously, I'm here in New Jersey swapping gigs with Jim Heffernan, both of us using vintage p/p guitars.

Duane,
I'm so happy to see on here.
Those Sho-Bud days were great! I remember riding to work with you and Dad. We'd sing songs like, "Kiss An Angel Good Morning", when it was brand new.
Working at Sho-Bud was so much fun. So many friendships were made. While you and Dad were building steels,I was making parts: keyheads,pedalboards,pick-ups,bell-cranks,volume pedals,etc.
You were always there to advise me when I had a problem, except for the time that Dad had to get my long red hair untangled from the drill-press. LOL
At any rate, welcome to the Forum, and enjoy your adventure here. I know you will be a valuable asset to this body of knowledge.

It's been a long time since you have been down this way for a visit. 
Talked with Keith Ross a week or so ago.
He is planning to winter in Texas this year as he has done in previous years.

Duane, I 2nd what Theresa said about the old Music City Mfg days.
I will always remember the phone call in 1973 from you asking if I would like to go to work at MCM and came up for the interview.
Those 2 & 1/2 years working with you, Paul, Theresa, Yasu, Ron & Leslie and David and the rest of the gang were the best.

Welcome aboard Duane and company. This will be like a shot in the arm for this great forum. When I was playing in Idaho Falls Idaho in 1975, The manager of the Chesbro Music store knew I played steel in a popular nite club called the Matador club and wanted to have a pedal steel for display in the show room and he asked me to order the ultimate totally loaded pedal steel. I called Sho-Bud and spoke personally with you, since your name was given to me by a really great Nashville player I met in Ft Collins Colorado who's name I can not remember now. Anyway I asked you to build me an exact copy of his guitar from a list he gave me in the club one night, which was a Pro-III custom birds eye maple and curly maple 8 plus 4. When you sent the guitar to Chesbro Music they called me to set it up for display. I set it up and spent some time playing it in the store. I fell imediately in love an ended up buying it on the spot and they never even got to show it. It was a dream of a guitar. I wore it out while playing on the road and to make this as short as possible , I had to let it go. It was many years before I ever saw this guitar again. It was in a little bar in Oatman Arizona being played by a steel player named Charlie Price who has since passed away. The singer in the band recognised me and asked me to set in on steel, I agreed and when I set down at the steel, something felt familliar??? I was setting in on my old Pro III Custom built by your hands and wore out by mine and rebuilt by Charlie's hands. I have to tell you what a dream come true that was for me. Charlie sold it to a man in Bullhead city Arizona and he has moved somewhere I have no way of knowing. Long story but it is true. I loved that guitar. How the Hell are you?
Glad to see you on the Forum- hope to see you at some of the Steel shows once in a while.
I sure miss the days in Tulsa, with Frances,and Estes Ragland, Ted Creekmore, and (surely you haven't forgotten), Monte
Tilley, and you on your old Blankenship-
Wheeler steel guitar. We had some fun, didn't we?

Sure was good to see your name up on the forum and it's about time. You have so much knowledge and know-how that will be of great help to many of the guys on here. Our days at Sho-Bud and Music City hold many, many dear and wonderful memories. What a great training camp we had!!! Working with Shot and all the other folks, both employees, artists and pickers that came along, not to mention making so many good friends was definitely a wonderful and lasting experience. Thanks for the wonderful friendship you have shown us in the many years we have known each other. We wish you the best and much success in whatever you undertake.
