Well I missed the better part of the Phoenix show since I was playing all weekend out in Queen Creek at San Tan Flat, I actually only saw about 10 minutes of it when I dropped in to say hi to a few people.
Friday night we were wrapping up the last set at about 1am and there were about 10 girls right up at the edge of the stage demanding an encore, so being the nice gentlemen we are we played an encore song. About halfway through the song all these girls stormed the stage and I have one of those double-wide seats, kind of like a mini sofa, and one of these girls came over and sat down on the edge of it with me for the rest of the song.
Turns out these girls were from Canada, is this normal up there? Our bass player is ready to move to Canada if so.

I was born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada... played around here for over 20 years.... and yes, girls up here are really, really friendly... and don't mind sharing the stage with you

There must be something about 1 a.m. and as Billy said, "Alcohol is a wonderful thing".
Last month the same thing happened here in Md. Not 10, but 2 women wanted an encore and 1 came up on the bandstand begging me for encores and offered to trade another song for her friend removing a piece of her clothing to show the band a portion of her anatomy. Decorum here prevents an accurate description of the actual quote.
My steel guitar is very pretty, but truth be told: I can't play it all that well, I'm fairly old, and I ain't that pretty.

Anyone remember a club called Prime Country in Salem, Oregon? I was playing there 5 nights a week in 1980 and it used to get packed.
One night some girl had drank enough to think I wasn't too awful looking, and in the middle of a song she came up on the stage. She got up close behind me and put her hands inside my shirt and started running her hands all over my torso while I was sitting there playing steel.
I was pretty surprised of course, but not wanting to seem "uncool", made kindof a joke about it, opening my eyes wide and making silly faces, etc. The bouncer came up and pulled her off of me and escorted her off the stage.
Someone told me later she took a swing at the bouncer and got 86ed.
Darn bouncers!
Down here in Mexico they are not very formal about their stages... I'm used to "Musicians on stage ONLY!" ... but here, they get girls up to dance onstage quite often. Most any night we have 10-15 girls dancing along the front of the stage in some of the "up" tunes.
I'm old enough now that they don't put their hands in my shirt anymore...

I'm serious. It's nuts up here. One of the guys in our band is 60 and the young girls are all over him. They love Sandy, don't they Trev? Just the other night a 21 year-old approached him and asked if he was Robert Plant.
Here's our lead singer, Larry, getting mauled on a typical gig:
....and believe me, we're doing Jones or Haggard here, not Rascal Flatts!

And at this point I don't care about the girls...
