Cindy Cashdollar and Red Volkaert--Super Pair

Post by Fred Shannon »

Seems like a lot of folks have "ducked" Cindy and her playing ability, but I think she's one of the most versatile players of the non-pedal steel. Here's a couple of youtubes that really show her capability in two distinct music styles I think:

Whatta' you think?

Fred: BTW I was in San Antonio last month and would have loved to find a band as in your second clip, had to drive north on route #35 to a place called
Gruene to find anything close(with no steel).
I was staying across the highway fron the cowboy music dance hall but all they had was country rock
and I'm a bit too old for that.
Tried calling around but all the country music places in the area were private.
Regards, Bill W. :)

:whoa:

Fred : Enjoyed both tunes a whole lot, especially the latter one; you all did fine on both tunes, tho. Cindy does a fine job on the double neck fender. Bob wills would have loved her backing his group. I admire the non-pedal guitar pickers; Jerry, my idol was the champion, tho Berford Gentry could play a mean non-pedal.. Thanks for sharing Cindy with us..Bernie :D :whoa:

Hey Fred. I'll have to agree with you. Particularly on the stuff she does with Redd. I could sit for hours and watch those clips.
