As I'm sure we all know... A D-12 isn't any good unless it weighs at least 100 pounds...

dwight: what year is the last msa in your pics the rosewood..i got a d-12 that looks just like it..

Jeff, I had a friend date it to early 1970. It is all wood and the changer/undercarriage is different than modern mechanics now. But it has the goods. I love it. And Rich I would expect that you built your house around the D-12.

Foundation first then with a crane you sat the D-12 in place, then built the remainder of the house.

And Darvin, if there was ever a future father-in-law program, I would like to put my name on it and guess what you would be first in line

Talk about a candy store for Steel Guitar Junkies. I am the same way with my steels and drums, peaveys as well. May the Chords live forever. You guys inspire me .

Rolls Royce?.......

I think of them as sort of a cross between a Mack Truck and a Sherman Tank! They may even make it through a nuclear blast.

Great guitars. Heavy yes, but so was Babe Ruth.

I built a dual case setup for my '75 Classic which makes it much easier to move around. I can latch the two cases together if I'm where I can roll them, or detach them if I have to carry them. The legs, pedal bar, and case weighs around 30 lbs, and the guitar and case weighs around 70 lbs.

Al Marcus, I just rotate these guitars around, I really don't like one more than the other. The new MSA's sure do play great, but with proper adjustment, the old one's do too. I play in a church praise band where I can leave my stuff set up, and I usually switch guitars every couple of months. I have a Williams and a Fessenden in the mix also, and I'm restoring a couple of Sho Buds that should be playable in a year or two.

I hear ya Darvin, I am a tone freak and with my drum kits I get ridiculous. I had 4 snare drums each with its own quality and tone and I wanted to play them all. I play at church as well. You have a beautiful collection my friend and GOD BLESS everyone and may HE expand your talents further than you could ever dream of.
