My 112 has developed a strange glitch. It makes a rushing sound, something like the ring of a cymbal. It only happens when I go heavy on the volume pedal, and much more at some frequencies than others. It's loudest when I pick the 10th string at around the 12th fret. The noise developes as the string rings--it's not immediate, and can get really loud at just the right point on the fret board.

Sounds to me like an oscillation of some kind.

Any ideas.

Never mind--I found the problem. I asked my wife to come over and listen, and see what she thought. She listened close by the amp and said, "it's coming from over there", pointing at my son's drum set. It was the snare drum, about ten feet away, picking up the vibes. I thought it had a kind of ventriliquist aire about it!
DUHH!

Bwaaa! Had the same thing happen to me many years ago! Had to train my drummer to always turn off the snares when he wasn't playing. I just had to hit him on the head a few times with a rolled up newspaper.
