Haven't seen this one before. Love these vids that actually show a close up on the hands. Buddy an Leon together. What a great duo. "Almost to Tulsa" is one of my favorite steel records. What a fantastic tone!!! Gee, would it have been Steel>VP>Amp? Awesome. What amps did Buddy use back in the day?

Yes. Buddy used a Sho~Bud compactra amp in those days. Not the correct spelling. Embarassed

From the angle of the shot. It's hard for me to tell. But I think that guitar is a finger-tip. Could be a Permanent. Hope this helps,,,bb

I'm glad that showed up on You Tube again. I love the way Buddy works the pinky finger on his left hand. I think that may be where all the magic comes from.

i'm gonna schedule a lesson with him at Billy Coopers

(after I get a fake beard so he doesn't know I'm working on the same licks from 10 years ago)

and see where to get those hats!

Can someone post a video of Bud Charlton playing Buddy's Boogie? Buddy Charlton does a great job on that tune.

Here are the other two I've seen on YouTube for awhile. I love this stuff. Get Buddy Charletons "Almost to Tulsa". The whole record is this kind of music. Lots of Leon Rhodes.

Yea, the hats are great, but the scarfs pull the whole thing together! LOL
Enjoy!
