Very nice, John - one of my favorite songs. I've been working on that one myself on my universal. I play it an octave lower for a more mellow sound. I'm surprised you don't use C6 for this song. But it also works well on E9.

Thanks for the comments, its nice to get a bit of encouragement...
David I am one of those that used the back neck as an armrest for the first 20 years! Though I love it now I am staying in my comfort zone for the moment.

John, I almost hate to do this to you, but it's really your fault -- if I hadn't heard your nice version of the song, I might not have tried it on steel and then would not have gone Google to look up the lyrics I forgot and then would not have encountered this: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/justinti ... river.html. Boy, we've come a long way from "told me love was too plebian, now you say you're through with me and ..."

Hi, John - that was lovely!

I do get on the Forum frequently, but I'm not yet in the habit of going to the '...Internet' category - I can see now that I'm missing a lot of good stuff!

Best wishes for 2009!

Nice one John, I could play some nice c6th backup on that one, we will have to get together soon.
At this time I have taken a fancy to the Merle Haggerd album, Unforgettable, and have started to write the backins down, have a nice version of the same.
Also having a go at,Autumn Leaves,Stardust,Pennies From Heaven,I'll Get By, Your Nobody till,How High The Moon Sentimental Journy, and others, if your interestad.
I discovered the c6th arm rest 6 months ago after all these years, and wow, whole new world.
Regards,Slim.
