I finally gave up. Not worth the frustrations I was having with real player crashing without even getting to hear one note. I also tried winamp with no success. I have always had problems with that site no matter what computer I use. I have tried with 3 different computers all having problems. For those of you who can get this site to work, I envy you.

I worked the weekend and several times attempted to listen to the show in my squad car. It worked, but was in & out, more out than in. I had much better success with my office computer as it is on a server. That didn't work very well either as it's hard to respond to calls My true office is my squad I'll wait for the posts from fellow forumites lucky enough to attend......

I listened all day Saturday with maybe a couple of times all day for buffering. I'm listening now (Sarah Jory - what a talent!!!), but getting some "overdriving". I'm using dial-up (56k).
I hooked up out from my computer sound card into my home theater system - I'm really surprised at how good the sound is. Thanks to all at SteelRadio for presenting this for us who must "stay-at-home.

I have enjoyed this broadcast very much..
i read a lot of people that where unable to check in and listen too.
it wasn`t until sunday that i realised that I could make a difference here and so can probably many more of you !!
in a situation like this we need more bandwith to serve everybody.
here`s what i did:
as i was havin the Software for the steeldays broadcast lying around here i figured lets fire that up and add an extra 10 Listeners to the total
yes, all i needed was a good computer ( P3 or higher) and a ADSL connection ( cable would do fine too.)
i got ADSL (asynchron meaning 1,5Mbps download and 256 Kbps upload) 1 stream is 24K so to leave me with some bandwith i should have choosen 8 or 9 but i took 10 x24K makes 240Kbps which leaves me 16up with a very little piece of software i "relayed" the stream for SR
many of you that have a similar PC and connection would be able to do the same
lets face it every 5 extra streams would be an extra profit to ISGC/SR.
you do not even have to be at home just keep the puter running and together we`ll be able to get EVERYBODY a connection to SR that is not able to get to st. louis...
so if ya feel you could help out a next time contact me or SR on how to do it
its really simple, and gets a lot of frustration out of this world.

Hey Jim!
Yes, we have full internet capabilites in our squads as all our DMV info is from a secure host system LOGIS (local government interface systems) monitored 24/7. All our reports and are one in the squad and transmitted to LOGIS as is with our calls being dispatched via computer with full history of past contacts and there nature, arrival/clear times, along with being able to pull up a DMV driver photo if identity is in question etc. So, real time internet....yes. I had a little problem with buffering but was well worth the listen. I can't say I would have rather been working though

Heya Ole,
because in the small ini file you set it to relay, all you have to do is run the software, SteelRadio(shoutcast server) does the rest as they provide the listener links and they relay the listereners to the available servers.
the software on your pc add`s the amount of streams you can offer to their total ( clustering )
Basicly thats ALL !!
i`ll be happy to provide you a package with such a relay server.
[This message was edited by Marco den Hertog on 01 September 2003 at 03:04 PM.]
