String Questions

I have bought new strings for my D10. The ones I have now are the ones that were on it when I bought it and I have no idea how old they are. When I move up above the tenth fret they really sound bad. Intonation, tone, etc., could this be from the age of the strings?
Or maybe something else? I will find out soon. Now, my main question, since I never changed strings on a PSG before, any tricks of the trade I should know? Anything I should look out for. One at a time? All at once?
I will look for some replies before I do the change out.

If they are the same gauge you should'nt have any problems...but if the gauge is different you'll have too adjust it and tune it at the changer.

Jerry, I take off all the strings at once. Make sure and turn your rollers and lightly lubricate them. It would not hurt to polish the fingers with Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish ( automotive at Wal Mart). This will cut down or eliminate string breakage. Also you can clean the fretboard while the strings are off. Good Luck

Jerry, I have tryed them all and the best is "Jagwire" so much better than the rest in my opinion! I have my own series with Jagwire--Walter Haynes E9 Ninth and 6 Sixth, try a set of both I think you will like them. Thanks,
