Great picture in today's New York Times of Jimmy Day and the Calhoun Twins boarding the Sho-Bud corporate airplane with Jimmy's D-10. This photo was printed as part of a review of Marty Stuart's photo book: "Country Music - The Masters." Included in the book is a great section on steel players.

Quite an interesting take on a wonderful book...I got a copy for Christmas last year.I was heading up the alley behind the Musicians'Union one morning-looked up the alley and there were all these famous guitar players standing on the loading dock behind Warner Brothers Records holding their most famous guitars(Reggie Young,Billy Sanford,Leon Rhodes,Jimmy Capps,Jerry Kennedy,Spider...and 10 or 15 more...after further investigation(asking Reggie and Billy"what's going on")I found out they were all being photographed by Marty Stuart for a book...there are many steel guitar-related pictures too...Buddy Emmons,Weldon,Lloyd...great book!

Interesting photo. I wonder if the guitar was "out of the case" only for purposes of the photo?

Looks like a Beechcraft Bonanza. I've owned three of them through the years. I've got about 700-800 hours in them.

Yep, a "C" model Bonanza, belonged to the twins, not Sho-Bud. This plane is rumored to have been destroyed 4 years ago in Florida while making a downwind to final approch at a private strip.
Over loaded and to slow was the NTSBA report. (Pilot error)

Four people and baggage, plus full fuel and getting to slow from downwind to base leg, bales would have helped!
