Post by Walter Stettner »

It's already time for a new clip! Here's a newer version of a clasic song, done in the tradition... :)

Enjoy!

The singer is either Jason Petty or Jim Owen and the steel player is probably Weldon Myrick.

I don't know who the singer is,but he is from Europe...the steel player might be too...it's no one I recognize from over here...I used to work with Jim Owen in Printer's Alley...that doesn't sound like him to me...I give up!

Unbelievable, Steve gives up! The singer is D.L. Menard from Louisiana, with Uncle Don Helms on steel. The track comes from the 1980s album "Cajun Saturday Night" (produced by Ricky Skaggs).

Kind Regards, Walter

This has got me trying to remembeer whether it was Jerry Byrd or Don on the original Hank Williams cut. The song title would leave it open for chimes somewhere in the arrangement and I think I can recall Jerry doing chimes but can't be sure of it.

Then I got to trying to recall if I ever heard Don do chimes under any situation and I could not. Anyone else have a better memory then I do.....

Regards, Paul

Walter : I knew it had to be Uncle Don playing the steel, but knew it surely wasn't our man , Hank. Keep sending these great songs and artists, Walter..Bernie
