Jerry I don't know anything about you tube video, but I do know great tone and a fantastic set of hands when I hear them.....besides you ain't that purdy

Seriously though I wish you could figure it out. It is a great piece of work and I would love nothing more than to watch all the video playing that you would like to put up for us. Thanks for posting it.

I don't know anything about uploading to YouTube, either; however, I did notice that it was sent to the UK site. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Different format maybe?

Thanks Ray. I did this really late at night it looks like I registered at the UK site and perhaps as Lee suggested the format is wrong. I think I will have to re register to correct this.

Notice the guitar cord. With the shadow, it looks like a garden hose hooked to the side of the guitar.

Very nice playing, we must hear more of this.

As for the Video, it don't matter which site you are on UK or US, I do know there are a few formats which YouTube can't handle. If you use Windows Movie Maker (should be installed on your computer) easy to use and works every time on YouTube.

I apprecaite all of the nice complements. I have a new HD Video Camcorder and I am using Pinnacle 11.1 HD editing software. I think I have figured out what I was doing wrong. I have a lot of live stuff I could share. I need to spend some time learning to drive the recorder and software. The I will tackle the recorded sound.

I really enjoy getting to listen to my heros and watch my friends play. The best part is making new friends and having the opportunity to share our love of the steel guitar.

Thanks for the kind complements. I am playing my Marlen on this recording. I also played this guitar at my dear friend Leonard Stadlers funeral. It is the one pictured in the video / slide show.

Hi Jerry,
The tone on your Marlen is without a doubt the BEST I have ever heard. It's so pure to the ear with no outside overtones. Is it a pull release? What kind of pick-ups are on this guitar? How about effects and amp? Leonard Stadler was also a super good friend of mine. I went to visit him numberous times in Reidsville. He made a guitar for me in 1975 that I still have and will never part with. It looks like the one you have. It's a D-10 with the coco bola that I waited a year for. It has a great tone but does'nt have that final edge yours has. Looking forward to more tunes with this awesome guitar.

Hi CB,

I appreciate everyone's very kind complements. Sorry for the delay in responding. I am at work and have to keep it short.

As promised, I hope to record a video over the holidays. To answer a few questions, My Marlen is an all-pull changer with George L 10-1 pickups. The body is birds-eye maple with coco bola necks and trim. I use a Memory Man analog delay for effects into a old session 400. I am very pleased with the tone, action and tuning stability. To my knowledge this is the last D10 Marlen manufactured. This guitar is very special to me for many reasons. (Long Story) I was honored to play this guitar at Leonard's funeral. He was a very dear friend to me and showed me my first licks and how to hold a bar. I miss his gentle spirit and kindness. Thank you to all that keep his legacy alive.

Hi Jerry,
I realy appreciate the info about your guitar. Just so happens I also have an old Session 400 (75)with a K series JBL and also an old Memory Man that works great. At this time I have BL-710 on the E9th but can't seem to dial in the tone close to what you are getting. Would it be too much trouble for you to share your Session 400 settings? As I had mentioned I too have the Birdseye Maple and Coco Bola but mines a pull-release. I wonder whats the difference in the BL 710 and the GL 10-1 on this guitar. Maybe the 10-1 would also be best on my guitar.
