Hello,
I checked the tab section, but didn't find anything. I have to play Moonshine, and I'm not sure where to start on this one. It sounds like a lot of hammer-ons and other trick stuff that I'm not familiar with. Does anyone have tab for it, or any other insights?
Thanks,

I have the tab for Moonshine. It is in Steel Guitarist Magazine, No 5, May 1980. It features a story on Ralph Mooney (he's on the front cover), and has the tab in the magazine. b0b still has some of these for sale here on the Forum - click on Magazines at the upper right corner of the screen.
One thing for sure - this song is not easy. Loads of hammer on - hammer off, and more tricks. Years ago I messed with the first 3 measures, and decided it would be better to just listen to it on the record. _________________ Steeless. |

Ken,
It sure isn't easy. The guys I'm playing with said they wanted to do it, and when I sat down to work on it I just about melted my brain. I'll check to see if there are any issue #5's left here on the forum.
Thanks,

I'd love to find tab for Texas Waltz (anybody reading this know where that can be found?). That's one of my favorite Mooney songs. It actually had AM radio air play back in the late 60's. It would be fun to learn that one, and probably do-able.
Good luck with Moonshine - try not to go into complete melt-down. _________________ Steeless. |

Well, I'll see how it goes. I ordered the set of Steel Guitar magazines, and I'll start the brain melting process when they arrive. It'll be interesting to see what all those tricks are, as I've yet to get very good at the hammer-ons, etc. It should at least be good practice.

Those Steel Guitar magazines are great!
I wish it was still in publication. |
