Swingin'West-Mike Gross (Sat. 10/25) FM & on line
This Saturday’s (10-25-08) weekly edition of “Swingin’ West” can be heard from 2:00- 3:00 PM (eastern) on WVOF-FM (88.5) in Fairfield Connecticut and streams world wide on the Internet at www.swinginwest.com or www.wvof.org
The theme for this week’s show is a salute to the stars of the upcoming PSGA show- 11/9/08- Norwalk CT. (www.psga.org) It opens with a grouping as a salute to Herby Wallace. The next set has a cut by Darlene Prince and the Old Friends with her husband John DeMaille on steel. Both Darlene and John (PSGA officers) will be on the show bill for 11/9. There are also cuts by show stars Joe Wright and Jim Cohen. There is also a grouping of another star of the show, Tom Reilly including cuts with Connecticut stars Nick DeMaio, George Kiriakis and the Connecticut Country Companions.
You will also enjoy a group featuring the shows fiddle player, Fooch Fischetti. One of those tunes is with the band Gunsmoke with another PSGA officer, Jeff DeMaio on vocal and steel. The final set features the shows awesome lead guitarist, Van Manakas.
