Anyone know "Almost to Tulsa"?

Post by David Haddock »

Every time I see Junior Brown play live he does this Buddy Charleton/Ernest Tubb instrumental called "Almost to Tulsa". He re-tunes a couple strings from his C13 for it and pulls it off just like the recording. Does anyone know the tuning for it?

I play it on a standard 8 st C6 lap tuning sometimes. I get close enough to the regular pedalsteel version to make it work ok. Fun tune.

I finally found it. Once you get through Pete's drum solo you'll see it:

I have listened to it some more and I think he is retuning the 1st and 2nd down a whole step. Anyone have an opinion?
