I just bought one of these, so I guess I will have to move over to the "Lappies" section. As far as I know at present, it is a 1954 Teisco Model-R If anyone knows something about this Guitar I would be glad to hear from you.

Hi John,
Thanks so much for doing Farewell Party. Like I said in my comment I thought the sound and everything was superb.
Now of course you have to tell, in detail exactly how you recorded it.. ie direct to camera mic or did a overdub with real mic and adobe etc etc.
Interesting stuff because the sound was very good even though it looks like you did it right in your kitchen.
I would say that the Sierra has a unique sound.Would y'all agree?

John : I know you meant for this song to be for Bent; but I thought you were doing it for me and the other forumites, as well. A mighty fine job on the tune, John. I truly loved every note you put forth. One of the nicest versions I have heard.. Hi Bent,ok, the basic recording was recorded in the studio, I decided to double track the song, I then shot the video done the double tracking live, so what you see might look a little odd, that is because I am playing the fill in's for the double track. everything was recorded using Adobe Audition 3. I then recorded three videos to get the close up's of the playing, picks and bar movement just to make it more interesting. if you check the youtube video I have set out the settings for the Alesis for what setting's I used... bed timefor me now..night. night..JR

Thanks Bernie, Bent is one of the good guy's. we have a shared passion for recording and of course the steel guitar, I only wish that this internet was there for us when we were young, but alas we are the last of the Mohican's. nothing in front but everything behind.
Music is only fun , so don't get down when you hear someone better then you , your are better the someone else. may your God go with you...JR

And now have the privelege of talking to other steel pickers and can listen to all their great talents. Bernie, You have class.I am forever grateful that our paths crossed. You are one of the reasons I have dubbed our passion the Steel Guitar Brotherhood. That's because you are like a brother to me and the rest of us. You have great compassion for your fellow steeler. For this I have the utmost respect for you. You will know what I am talking about.

Bent , after exchanging emails with Bernie I think he is a real nice person with a heart of gold , very kind and thoughtfull .. if only the rest of the people in the world were the same then we would not be at war with other folk who would rather sit down and listen a little bit of country music rather then strap a bomb to themselves and destroy there fellow man........

John, I have known Bernie for about a year now. So I know that what you are saying about him is 100% true and accurate. Bernie is one of those whose word is golden and his passion for his fellow man goes way beyond mere words on paper.

John and Bent ; You devils, you two certainly bring forth the true meaning of the phrase which Bent invented after meeting me and also convinced me that we are all part of his " Steel Guitar Brother-hood ", or in other words, we are members of " b0b's SGF organization. Where else in this big wide world can you sit down, peacefully, and listen to some of the greatest steel Guitarists , which God gave to us to enjoy, during our stay on this planet. And then have the opportunity to send a post to each of the individuals whom we just had the pleasure of hearing, and thank them, personally for their sharing the talent, that God gave them, with our Steel Guitar Brotherhood.
John and Bent , the feeling is mutual; I think you two dudes are very special folks. Keep sending posts like you did and my head will become so swollen, you'll have to call me, Bernie the "CONEHEAD ".. Bernie

Bernie and Bent, would it not be wonderful if we could meet up one day face to face and sit down and just chat about the merits of the steel guitar. To me the steel guitar is not just about just about the steel guitar but the brotherhood of the steel guitar. Imagine three or as many people as you like in the same space with the same interest, wow the night would not be long enought to explore the wonders of what the pedal steel has brought to us.. just a thought .. John

Well, John, my wife wants to go to England in the near future. Now, because of all the great British steelers I have met, I have a reason to go too. Who knows, one of these days eh? I am sure that Bernie agrees with me that we should meet with Dave Seddon also. You are a great bunch of guys over there.
By the way, Bernie, did I hear an echo? Did John say something about a Brotherhood?? hehe

Yes, John, there are few things as fascinating in this world as that contraption we are trying to tame. It ain't easy but it sure is fun trying....
