Is there a reason why the windows clock just started to gain time everyday?
It started over the weekend.

I will mention because it wasn't so far, that sometimes if you have more than one operating system, and one goes off of UTC time and one doesn't, you will end up in a different time zone when you restart your computer...well not you but your computer Very Happy

If it's more like a gradual creep, like you gain a few minutes every hour, unfortunately that is a motherboard problem. I have seen people say that it happens if they overclock their CPU. Assuming you're not overclocking (and if you were doing it you'd know), it's just that the timekeeping is inaccurate enough on your board that you are noticing it between syncs.

Windows will sync with a time server. You can change the frequency that it does this (see here for instructions):

Or use something like Atomic Time Sync, which is a little program that will sync your clock and let you pick the interval.

Unfortunately I can't say I've used Atomic Time Sync so I can't say first hand if it is good software but I'd say just give it a shot if feel uncomfortable changing registry values (which is not a big deal...I'd try that first).

strange enuf.. I re set the clock a few times, also asked it to re-sych, but it continued to gain a little time every hour.
I was on the road for a few days and as I check now...the clock is on time.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you replaced the battery on the motherboard?
