Dear folks,

Today it was three years since I joined this great forum. Smile I had just bought a 1947 National New Yorker and had no idea what to do with it (I played "normal" guitar since many years, but we all know how different these instruments are, although they are both guitars). The help, advice, wisdom, patience and kindness of the members here on the SGF has been to IMMENSE importance to me in my lap steel learning curve, so I would just like to say

THANK YOU!

to everyone here. Smile

And in addition to the good advice I have received here - I remember the first time I nervously posted a soundclip here of my first lap steel composition Oh Well (in May 2006 I think) - the warm and encouraging response I received was such a great motivator to carry on with this difficult but wonderful instrument! Smile

I have also received hands-on help here from generous people like Mike Neer, Rick Aiello and Basil Henriques with shipping, fixing and improving lap steels.

So hats off big time to this great community!

Coincidentally, three years on, today was the day I set up a website for my lap steel music. Smile If you want, have a look at:

http://www.fredkinbom.com

I intend to improve the design eventually - it is built on a template from the webhost so far. Any feedback and comments/criticism would be most welcome!

And please feel free to sign my guestbook (empty at the time of writing Wink) and/or subscribe to my mailing list!

Cheers,

Fred

It looks great, Fred, even with the supplied template Smile. You've come a long way in three years, and I wish you much success in the coming years as well!

Thanks so much everyone for checking my site out and for the nice comments! I'm glad you enjoy the wesbite - the positive reaction made my lack of sleep last night (was up fine-tuning it til 5am) worthwhile! Wink

As for the design - I simply selected the template I thought worked best for me and my content. Lucky thing I wore a grey shirt when that photo was taken! Wink

All the best,

Fred
