Retirement Williams 600
My wife, Rosalyn, got me this blue Williams D-10 8 + 8 as a retirement present, as if retirement itself were not enough! I'm a sucker for abalone, so I had that added by Bill and Tim. These guys are craftsmen of the old school. stevet

Williams 600 series
Hey Steve, Great looking Steel you bought. You have made a very wise choice IMHO...please let us know how you like it after you have a chance to break it in. Like you, I have more than 5 knee levers and I have found that, depending upon the type of music I'm playing, that I do not need them all extended but it is nice to have them when you need them. Anyway...good luck with your new Willy.

I guess I have to join the "Blue Boys" club. I expect my new Willy to arrive tomorrow. I chose blue to match the wonderful Short Mountain Patriot reso I purchased from fellow forumite Elleby.

Thanks Larry, actually I got a little motivation from your previous posts when you were waiting for yours to be built.
I was able to pick up my new Willy yesterday. It was delivered safe & sound by Fedex in less than 24 hours.

Blue Williams 600 series beauty
Hey Dennis, Congratulations on your New Williams 600 Series Steel...that blue color really looks great...the Williams Steels are the best looking Steels on the market IMHO and you cannot beat that great 600 series changer...string breakage is history with that changer.

Bob D. Those choices are indeed agonizing. I just went through it. Mine should be done on October 31 CAN'T WAIT!!! I settled on natural birdseye with a wood neck. There seem to be plenty of blue ones, not that there's anything wrong with that.

More to the point my wife is going to kill me when I order a new Willy next year. I have just a few minor details to work out. Like what color, what wood type, wood or metal necks, what inlay, and you guys aren't helping. Can I get one of each.

Guitar or time???
Hey bob drawbaugh, I do not think it is the guitar that the wives are against but the amount of time they realize their husbands will spend with the guitar. Most women want husbands that are successful in careers that take a lot of time and they view the steel as an enemy of that expectation because of its time requirements.
