Jagwire Strings
Who uses Jagwire Strings? I have been using George L's and love the tone, I have not had one to break, and they are easy to keep clean. But several steel guitarist are telling me to use Jagwire. Well, does anyone know where I can get an E9th and C6th set? Do they have a website? Also, what is the difference between George L's and Jagwires? Thanks everyone!

Music hath the charm to soothe a savage beast, but I'd try a 10mm first.

I use jagwires. I have seen Danny on several occasions offer to help a steeler in need on this forum at no charge and the class , professionalism and kindness he has displayed on these occasions are more than enough reason for me to support his product. I dont buy alot of strings, but i might as well buy those that I do from a company and person I really respect and admire. which is also why I buy them from the forum.

I've been using them for a few years now and have only broken 1 third string (left it on too long).
The one complaint I have with Jagwires is with the thick wound strings, specifically the 9th and 10th strings on the c6th. The quality control at the ball end of the winding doesn't seem very consistant. I have been using a .070 on my 10th string on C6th for years. About every third set of jagwires, the winding at the ball is actually the thickest part of the winding (right up against the ball) making it impossible to fit in the slot of my Carter. Trying one from another set will usually get me a good one.
I think I am going to switch to a .068 and save the .070 strings to use on the Sho~Bud which the strings mount on a post instead of in a slot.

I met Danny in St.Louis when I was inducted in 2003 and he said why don,t try a set of Jagwires. I had not heard of Jagwires before and I am sure glad I tryed the set he gave me to try. I have used Jagwires ever since, best string made period!

The best strings I've "ever" used
Hi there folks,
I've been using Jagwire strings for many years now on the ol' Z.B. and just love them.
My 3rds used to last me a matter of three/four weeks at the most, but just for the hell of it strange to relate is that this last one was replaced exactly 12 months ago yesterday!!!!!!! I just can't believe it.
All Z.Best

I've used the "Ricky Davis" Nickel ,E9th & C6th, exclusively, for the last 15 months. Sound great, stay in tune, and NEVER broke one ! (I use Jeff's tuning chart)
