HELLO EVERYONE,

Finally, after almost 3 years of hard work, my new book "The 333 Book" (333 Licks, Tricks and Techniques Every Guitarist Should Know) is done and ready for shipping!!!

Rather than tell you all about it in this e-mail, just go to my new web site (www.mikeihde.com) and read about it, listen to some audio clips and watch a few video clips.

The book is a compilation of everything I've learned an taught over the last 35 years at Berklee College of Music.

It comes with a DVD that has 240 recorded examples of the licks and tricks (with a full band) for more than 2 and a half
hours of music as well as over 6 hours of video of various artists giving performance/interviews.

The artists are: Abe Laboriel (bass), Buddy Emmons and Doug Jernigan (pedal steel guitar), Phil Keaggy (alternate tunings
acoustic guitar), Ray Flacke (country tele), Alison Brown (banjo new acoustic music), Joe Stump (metal), Pete Huttlinger (solo acoustic fingerpicking), Bobbe Seymour and Billy Robinson (lap steel guitar), Richie Hart (Jazz Wes Montgomery/Benson style), and David Tronzo (slide guitar).

It's being distributed by Mel Bay so it will be available in your local music store at some point, but you can buy it now directly from my web site.

Please spread the word to all your guitar player and guitar teacher friends.

Thanks,

Mike Ihde

Picked up a copy at Mike's place last week. Showed it to a well-schooled musician friend who said he's "never seen anything like it" ..."excellent" ... "the best I've ever seen" ... "worth much more than the price" ..."I've gotta hear this guy play!"

Personally, I can't read music above Dick & Jane level, but don't have to: The book has very clear tab & explanation, besides notation. Great job, Mike. Only you could've done it. Now, when ya gonna do the same thing for 333 steel licks?

Mike , good luck with your new guitar licks book !! If a guitar player with the playing ability of Bill Fall sez it's good then it has to be great !! Like Bill said , "when are you coming out with a steel lick book" ?? Especially a "non-pedal" book ??? Eddie "C" ( the old non-pedal geezer )

There will be a few copies of my book at Doug Jernigan's table at the ISGC. Stop by and take a look at it. If you play guitar, you'll like it!

You can't buy them from Doug, they're just there for display. You have to go to www.mikeihde.com to purchase one.

Thanks Doug for helping me out.

Got my copy Monday, best money I have ever spent on music. Just the interviews with Buddy Emmons, Doug Jernigan and others like Ray Flacke as well as Mike's video is worth more than the purchase price. By far the best bang for the buck if you are into guitars.

I have my player set to loop, now I can listen, see the tab and notes and just let it go until I am exausted. Good reading too Mike tells it like it is. If you are a "homeboy" picker like me or a seasoned pro you will learn something and have fun doing it I guarantee.

Thanks Mike, as a Guitar guy, Steel guy and other various things in between for decades, I see real value here and have placed my order !

I think overall for $35 this book has the makings of being a value that never ends, a non ending reference for any level player.

Congratulations on your project and I wish you continued success .

Tony,
Thanks for all the kind words. It seems to be going well and I've been getting great reviews form other Forumites as well as those that are strictly guitar players.

I know these things take time to catch on but thanks again for your help in spreading the word.
